Watched Batman: Gotham Knight last night right. 6 different stories with very different visual presentation, and decent-to-weak storylines. Given that each episode is only allowed 12 minutes I suppose there’s not much room for development.
The application of anime aesthetic to Batman is not cool. I do not want Bruce Wayne to look like an 18-year-old Pokémon character. If you are feeling the desire now to point out to me how amazing anime is, don’t bother.
Based on that the first story is nice with a slightly Frank Miller/Gorillaz look, and the last one just looks really great. In between there is some good and some very, very bad. Nice to hear the Animated Series actor doing Batman, which is a voice etched deep into my grey matter from half four weekdays, 10 through 12 years old.
